Wendell Pierce Mugshot Shows Injuries From Hotel Fight
Wendell Pierce’s mugshot has been released from the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, where he was arrested Saturday morning, and the photo indicates that the actor suffered some cuts and scratches during his fight with a Bernie Sanders supporter. As Gossip Cop reported, Pierce, who recently starred as Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas in HBO’s “Confirmation,” was picked up by Atlanta cops at the Loews Hotel, where he allegedly assaulted a woman after a heated argument about the upcoming election.
As we previously noted, Pierce was talking to an unmarried couple at the hotel, and when the discussion turned to politics, Pierce, a Hillary Clinton supporter, became angry with the woman when she voiced her support for Sanders. Pierce, who was slapped with a misdemeanor battery charge, allegedly pushed the woman’s boyfriend and then grabbed her by the hair before hitting her on the head. It appears now that the couple fought back, based on Pierce’s mugshot.
Following Wendell Pierce’s arrest at around 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, he could be seen with a bloody lip and a scratch on his nose. Gossip Cop reached out to a rep for “The Wire” star for a comment about the incident, but we have yet to hear back. Pierce has remained silent on social media, as well. A police spokesman tells Gossip Cop that Pierce “made no indication he was famous” when he was arrested. The actor was released from jail early Saturday after paying the $1,000 bail.
