Wendell Pierce Followed Victim To Hotel Room Before Alleged Assault
Wendell Pierce followed his victim to her hotel room before he allegedly assaulted her, according to a just released Atlanta Police Department report. In it, the 29-year-old woman, now identified at Maggie Baca of Colorado, tells the police that while on the 23rd floor of the Loews Hotel, she was with two friends when Pierce and his girlfriend got off the elevator. According to the police report, they all “began a conversation about politics which got Mr. Pierce upset.”
As Gossip Cop previously reported, Pierce, a Hillary Clinton supporter, became angry with Baca for expressing her support for Sanders. And the police report confirms that it was more than a verbal disagreement. It notes that Pierce, who was arrested for battery, “began to push Baca” in the hotel’s hallway, and as she and her friends walked away, “Pierce followed them to their room and stuck his arm in the door and tried to enter the room.”
Baca told the police that she and her friends “tried to push Mr. Pierce out,” explaining the injuries in Pierce’s mugshot, and that’s when he “hit her in the head and grab[bed] her hoodie, ripping the hood off.” For his part, the 260-pound actor, who portrayed Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas in HBO’s “Confirmation,” alleges the 115-pound Baca and her pals “attempted to pull him in [their room] and he was trying to get away.”
The police seemed to believe Baca and her friends’ account, and arrested Pierce at around 3:45 a.m. on Saturday. He was charged with assault and battery, and later posted a $1,000 bond for his release. Neither Pierce nor his rep have commented on the actor’s arrest. Gossip Cop will continue to follow this story.
