WATCH: Jay Z & Beyonce Are Outlaws In New Bang Bang Part One Short Film
The black-and-white footage from the trilogy — featuring the couple as outlaws — was shown during their “On There Run” shows, which wrapped on Saturday with the couple telling an audience in France how much they love each other.
The “Bang Bang” films — shot in the California desert — were directed by Dikayl Rimmasch, who tells Nowness that when discussing the concept with Jay Z, the performer said, “We’re not trying to do this literally, it’s not that we’re Bonnie and Clyde. We’re on the run from everything. On the run from becoming a cliché. On the run from doing the same thing again.”
Rimmasch felt it was a metaphor for how Jay Z has been “staying alive as an entertainer and as a human being… How do you stay new, not just to your audience but also yourself?”
The second “Bang Bang” film will be released on Tuesday.
