Was Robert Pattinson Outed by Jennie Garth?

Gossip Cop has some major bad dish to bust — the day’s big story that Jennie Garth spilled the beans about Robert Pattinson dating either Kristen Stewart or Nikki Reed, his “Twilight” co-stars. Either way — it’s still way wrong.

The other blogs, including Perez Hilton, who don’t fact-check, have been buzzing all day about a quote Garth supposedly gave concerning Pattinson to the New York Daily News: “I can’t say [if it’s Stewart or Reed], because that would be breaking my promise to [her husband, “Twilight” star Peter Facinelli], but he is dating one of them!”

So what’s the problem? Garth never actually said that. Gossip Cop knows because we obtained a transcript. The only thing she said was, “That will be breaking my promise to my husband, but I do know.”

Garth’s rep also confirmed that she didn’t leak the highly guarded details about Pattinson’s love life.

    She probably didn’t realize it but she did confirm them because she did confirm Robert is dating someone. And who else could Robert possibly be dating if not Kristen. He’s been inseparable from her since he came back from NYC.

    Exactly..the only thing different is she didnt mention K/S or N/R..but we all know who she’s talking about..she just outted them big time..They are inseperable when they are around each other..Robsten is real..why dont you debunk this rumor cossip cop..oh wait..because you cant..you would have to confirm and Summit would be P’ OD.

    Gossip Cop – If you truly want to look at all the evidence, I’d like to see you add to this report that Jennie Garth’s husband, Peter Facinelli, busted this rumor himself on his Twitter site. He quoted his wife directly, and it was much different than what appears above. Peter called it media fabrication. His Twitter account is for real, and he has verified that it is real in many interviews. I personally think that Rob’s love life is his business whether he’s dating Kristen, Nikki, my next-door neighbor…whatever. But I would l like to see this story updated with Peter’s information so that I can have faith that you really do try to include all evidence, not only evidence that supports a certain story. Thank you!

    Jbug, thanks for your comment. We at Gossip Cop were in contact with Facinelli and Garth’s people ALL day — and they LOVED what we wrote.

    For the record, the reporter’s transcript and what was actually printed in the Daily News are a bit different. The reporter’s notes NEVER included the words, “but he is dating one of them!” Still, somehow or another, someone at the Daily News added those words. Gossip Cop knows for a fact those added words were never uttered — we made that clear, and it is something that Facinelli and Garth’s people appreciate us for having pointed out. We were even told that Facinelli might credit Gossip Cop in a tweet. We still hope he does.
