WATCH: Rosie O’Donnell on Show’s Cancellation: “It’s Not A Nightmare”

VIDEO

(OWN)

Rosie O’Donnell addressed her show’s cancellation on Monday.

The talk program, on Oprah’s OWN Network, will be dropped after its first season and leave the air this month.

“I came here to Chicago with the best of intentions, trying, really, to do… what I thought would be kind of easy for me,” O’Donnell says into the camera. “But it wasn’t really that easy.”

In the clip, O’Donnell has nothing but good things to say about her boss, saying, ”Oprah has treated me with nothing but dignity and respect from Day One.”

“Here’s the bottom line: It’s a business. It didn’t make financial sense to continue the show,” acknowledges O’Donnell.

The host is not bitter about the show’s run ending, observing, “It’s not a nightmare. It’s a good thing.”

O’Donnell did NOT respond to nemesis Donald Trump’s less-than-polite assessment of the show’s cancellation.

Rosie thank you for saying that. The media is trying to make a big thing out of it. That is the way television works.

O’s channel problems aren’t Rosie’s fault. People have to pick and choose the extra’s right now. Cable companies bundling channels and putting Oprah’s channel in a high priced priced bundle is the only thing responsible for the lack of viewers. Oprah’s channel is to expensive for this household to afford. I miss Oprah, I miss her show, but no way will we buy into to what the cable companies have done.
