Victoria Justice’s Victorious Canceled, Creator Criticizes Nickelodeon’s Decision

The upcoming third season of “Victorious” will be its last.

Nickelodeon announced on Friday that the Emmy-nominated series starring Victoria Justice will not produce any more episodes — much to the chagrin of its creator, Dan Schneider.

“This was the network’s decision – not mine,” he wrote in a blog post.

Though Schneider acknowledged that Nickelodeon series rarely go beyond 60 episodes, which “Victorious” had reached, he was willing to continue.

“I would love to have made more than 60 of ‘Victorious,’” he admitted, “but that’s how it usually goes.”

The producer also asked fans to “please not be angry” with any of the show’s stars or staff.

“They all wanted ‘Victorious’ to continue – so did I,” he said.

Justice seemed more at peace with the network’s decision, tweeting, “3 Emmy nominations is not a bad send off… #GoingOutOnTop #LoveUguys :{)”

The actress will find out at the Emmy’s September 23rd ceremony whether the show won any of the categories in which it was nominated.

The final season will premier this fall.

    Misleading title, Dan Schneider didn’t criticize Nickelodeon at all. He’s right, Nick shows rarely last long anyways. But I mean, at least they get one more season & were told that it was being cancelled. I knew it was coming to an end anyways. Ariana Grande is suppose to be on a new spin-off show with Jeanette McCurdy called “Sam & Cat” and Noah Munchk will have his own show “Gibby”. Dan Schneider himself is creating these shows.

    Icarly went to it’s 8 season, everyone was already getting tired of them already, Victorious is a hot new show, that should had gone to at least its 5 season.

    Also, the point about Dan’s shows not lasting long is not true. Zoey 101, Drake & Josh, and iCarly lasted more than 60 episodes. I think the new shows played a factor but I don’t believe Dan wanted Victorious to be canceled.

    If Nick is letting Spongebob play for over TEN YEARS, than I think Victorious shouldn’t be cancel at all. And with the new shows that coming, you would think they would also cancel iCarly as well since 3 of the cast member will be having there own show. Victorious is one of the decent shows Nick has on air, they should at least let it last for a couple more seasons.

    It’s a good show for kids or teenagers (and probably secretly watched by adults) and I wanted for the children of my nieces and nephews sake (who loved this show to bits. Yes. We can watch this show in my country) that there will be more seasons. Alas. We can’t get what we want.

    Im not so happy ik dan didnt wanna cancel victorious but rly. spongebob, Fairy odd pairents stay on longer for like nine years but i wish victorious would never be canceled rly im super upset. i use to like i carly but its old there showing reruns and im sick of it.victoria justice arianna grande leon lizzy beck matt there talented and the show should go on!

    Okay, he said the average life-span of a LIVE ACTION Nick show is 60 episodes, Fairly Odd Parents and SpongeBob are both animated. Secondly, stop saying “get rid of SB or FOP” they are Nickelodeons biggest staples/icons and I don’t foresee them going anywhere on Nick’s account anytime soon. Victorious is an okay show, but it’s not a masterpiece by any means and four seasons is generally a good run for a show of this quality. Drake and Josh was a great show and had exactly 60 episodes. iCarly did so well because it had a very good supporting cast, Carly was a bland stereotypical character, but when you threw Spencer, Gibby, Freddy, Sam, Neville and all the other minor characters into the mix, you get a pretty decent show. But, keep in mind that nevertheless iCarly will be airing it’s last episode soon as well as stated by Nick.

    finally a good a analisis…victorious in not close to Drake and Josh and iCarly never had anything good on it. They give you bad moral base to your children and teenagers…
