Victoria Beckham Bribing Mel C To Ditch Spice Girls Reunion?
Victoria Beckham is NOT trying to bribe Mel C into ditching a Spice Girls reunion with the promise of managing her music career, despite a made-up report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s “not true.”
“Posh Pays Sporty To Ditch The Girls,” reads a headline in this week’s Star, which goes on to claim the fashion designer is “so sick of the attempts to get the band back together” that she’s now trying to bribe Mel C, her former band mate, to ditch the reunion and the girls completely. A so-called “source” tells the outlet, “Victoria thinks all this Spice Girls talk hurts her credibility as a designer. She knows Mel has been trying to make it as a solo artist, so Victoria promised to manager her career if she turned down the reunion.”
The magazine’s questionable insider further claims, “Posh is working with a bunch of agents to fund a big comeback for Mel.” “She really believes Mel should be a star again, and if it means no more Spice Girls talk, even better!” concludes the tipster.
But Gossip Cop investigated, and a rep for Beckham exclusively assures us the report is “not true.” The star is currently running her own business, and has no interest in moving into music management. What’s more, Mel C has a very successful music career in the UK, and wouldn’t need Beckham to help her make a “comeback.” It’s just another fake news story.
Unfortunately, we aren’t surprised by Star‘s baseless and misleading article. In May, Gossip Cop called out the unreliable tabloid for falsely alleging Beckham had hired a social media team to make her appear less miserable. And shortly before that tall-tale, we debunked the publication for wrongly claiming Mel B and Beckham were feuding over a supposed Spice Girls reunion tour. Much like those bogus stories, this latest claim is equally inaccurate.
