Vanessa Ferguson “The Voice” Knockouts Video: Watch “If I Were Your Woman” Performance
Vanessa Ferguson defeated Jack Cassidy during “The Voice” Knockouts, as seen on Monday’s show. Check out the video below.
As Gossip Cop reported, Ferguson had three coaches fighting over her during the Blind Auditions, and chose Alicia Keys to be her coach. Ferguson beat Autumn Turner during the Battles, though Turner was stolen (and then eliminated) by Adam Levine. Meanwhile, fellow Team Alicia member Cassidy survived his Battle against Hunter Plake, who was stolen by Gwen Stefani.
Now after both being on the winning side, Ferguson and Cassidy had to go up against each other for the third round of the competition. She picked “If Were Your Woman” by Gladys Knight for her solo turn on the stage, while Cassidy selected a stripped-down version of “Unsteady” by X Ambassadors. In rehearsals, both chose to sit at the piano, making for the first time in “Voice” history that there’d be a piano-focused Knockout face-off.
Keys seemed visibly excited during Ferguson’s performance and it looked like Stefani might’ve had tears in her eyes. Both women gave her a standing ovation. Adam Levine also thought Ferguson was the star, predicting she could be the “recipe for a big win for Team Alicia.” And Blake Shelton said to her, “Saying that was phenomenal is like saying water is wet… You should’ve saved that for the finale where you could’ve won the whole thing. It was that good.”
As disappointing as it was for Cassidy, it was little surprise when Keys named Ferguson the winner, keeping her for the Live Playoffs. Watch below!
