WATCH: Katy Perry, Tons Of Stars Sing For UNICEF “Imagine” Music Video
UNICEF has debuted a star-studded video featuring celebrities singing “Imagine” by John Lennon to raise awareness of children’s rights on the 25th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Katy Perry, Idris Elba, Courteney Cox, Nicole Scherzinger, David Arquette, Seth Green, Will.i.am, Dianna Agron, and dozens of other famous faces are seen lending their voices to the song, along with footage of Lennon and other people who support the organization’s mission.
There is also a new #Imagine app, which lets anyone record and upload his or her own version of the song. The individual recordings will be combined into a multilingual “world” version of “Imagine,” to be produced by David Guetta for an interactive music video set for release around New Year’s Eve.
“The #IMAGINE project gives people across the globe a chance to join a global movement for children, lending their ideas, their visions and, not least, their voices to advance the rights of every child, everywhere,” explains UNICEF executive director Anthony Lake.
Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono adds, “A dream you dream alone may be a dream, but a dream two people dream together is a reality.” Check out the video below, and tell us what you think.
