Underway: Conan O’Brien Protests on Both Coasts

It looks like Andy Richter just appeared on the roof to the chanting crowd’s delight.
They’ve unfurled a giant “I’m with Coco” banner from the top of the building.
The crowd appears to have grown even as the rain falls steadily.
“We want Coco, Leno’s got to go!” was the cry from the masses moments ago.
“Four more years! Four more years!”
“Down with the chin, up with the hair!”
“Tonight Show” staffers are leaning from the windows and taking pictures of the crowd.

In yet another strange moment in the Late Night Battle of 2010, at this hour Conan O’Brien supporters have gathered at Universal Studios in Los Angeles and at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York to protest NBC’s decision to replace him as host of “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno.
The simultaneous demonstrations — both beginning at 3:00pm Eastern — were organized online by O’Brien’s fans even as the final negotiations for his exit from NBC are being hammered out.
The large group of Team Conan loyalists in Los Angeles, carrying banners and decked out in “I’m with Coco” T-shirts, are protesting in a downpour as passing motorists honk approval.
