It is all make-up with Gawker when it comes to “Sex and the City” star Kristin Davis. In a piece titled, “Cosmetics Company Uses Kristin Davis and Then Kicks Her Out,” Gawker got it wrong and wrong.
The story began, “Ahava Dead Sea Laboratories, hired Sex and the City’s Kristin Davis to help their image. Because she worked with the disputed company, she got the boot from human rights group Oxfam International. Now Ahava is giving her the heave-ho too!”
To clarify, Gawker claimed – based on an erroneous New York Post piece – that Davis was fired from the Palestinian leaning organization Oxfam International, because she did ads for the Israeli beauty products company Ahava. That’s wrong #1. Oxfam didn’t ding Davis. She still works with them, and a press release a month ago even said, “Oxfam values its on-going relationship with Kristin very highly.”
And Ahava didn’t get rid of Davis either. Wrong #2. Rather, as her people confirmed to Gossip Cop, “her contract expired.”
Sure they didn’t get the facts right, but at least Gawker spelled her name correctly!
