Since Gossip Cop has become the destination for accurate “Twilight” stories, a production source came directly to us with details of the stars’ drama.
There’s a reason you haven’t seen much of Robert Pattinson, other than on the set: “Twilight” filmmakers are trying to protect the handsome young star from the prying lenses of the paparazzi. “Every time anyone from the cast emerges from the hotel they’re swarmed by paparazzi,” says the inside source.
And Pattinson is the prime target.
“He’s a prisoner of the paparazzi,” the source tells Gossip Cop. “It’s a nightmare,” adds the source, explaining that Pattinson almost never leaves the hotel except to go to the set. And when he does, the crew has to go great lengths to find ways to transport him from one location to another undetected. Because of the paparazzi, the star has been unable to interact with his many fans.
Gossip Cop hopes the paparazzi will back off so Pattinson and the rest of the cast can concentrate on the film — and their adoring fans.

Perhaps he should stay in another hotel far away from the reg cast so that we can get pics of Kristen and the cast ocassionaly without bothering his royal highness.
Funny how there was an overload of pics from the Remember me set, every single day and really nobody wanted to see them but of course ‘his’ management made sure to call the paps for that movie. And he smiled and seemed to be loving it.
How convinient. This dude is just playing the hollywood game. Cliche. Everyone sees through it.
i believe every word of this article…all except the part about rob being upset cause he can’t “interact with his many fans”. it doesn’t take a genius to know that the “many fans” scare rob far more than the paparazzi. the paps just want a picture. the fans want a piece of him. literally. and that’s the reason he rarely leaves the hotel…not cause he’s afraid of a picture.
@dancing – That doesn’t even make logical sense. Rob’s publicists aren’t calling the paps. That’d be highly unprofessional and the amount of fans that showed up was SERIOUSLY impeding the film’s work – meaning not only Rob but EVERYONE out there. Yea, they’re working people. Like a real job. Often HARDER and longer than any of us do.
If you really followed the pics at all he was rarely smiling during that shoot. Rob Pattinson adores his fans but he’s said more than once all the attention makes him paranoid. Deservedly so. He can’t even go out with friends without someone knowing. Have a little sympathy – I don’t think ANY star would love the attention he’s getting.
I kind of agree with both of you. I’m a huge fan of his, but I really hope he’s not hiding out in his hotel room because of this. If it’s because he’s shacking up with Kristen — fine (more power to both of you!). If it’s because he’s got a crazy work ethic and wants to stay in Edward mode — great ( I respect and admire your dedication to your craft).
But if you’re shacked up in your hotel afraid because some people are going to take some pictures of you — that’s kind of sad. Yeah, papz can be a pain in the ass — but seriously? You’re going to let these people dictate your life?
I love you man — but grow a pair.
Unless….is there something we don’t know? Have there been death threats or something they haven’t told us about? I remember hearing about the three girls in alien costumes that caught him coming out of the bathroom and hearing about how nervous and agitated he got; I also remember when all of a sudden he had a double who would come out of his trailer first in New York…almost to deflect a potential stalker?? I know Rob’s confessed to greater than average paranoia, so if someone threatened his life…that’s different.
But otherwise? What the hell? I know you’ve said that you “Can’t let anonymous faces on the internet dictate your life,” so I doubt you read your press anymore, but in that same vein ..shouldn’t you not let dumb ass paparazzi ruin your life either?!?!?
This is the rest of your life. No matter if you stay inside or not. Deal with it.

@dancing- stfu. go get a life and stop judging poeple. and he is sooo not full of himself. he’s one of the most well-grounded celebs in hollywood these days. and why do you have such a big problem with him? so he would like to go get coffe without it being in magazines the next day- so what? how is that a problem? and “his royal highness”? seriously? how about growing up and do something useful? and newsflash- you’re the cliche by being one of those people who hate the most popular and talented man in hollywood. yep, you’re jealous. so yeah, get over it, cause everyone sees through YOU. also, when have we ever seen him smiling about being mauled by the paparazzi? yeah, never! that’s what i thought.
In a few years from now he will be doing anything to be noticed by the paparazzi. He is famous. He is making a living and his fame is helping him. I think that he knows exactly what he doing. He is not a humble or as fragile as he makes himself to be.
i can’t say that i feel sorry for robert, cause i don’t. robert DID in the new copy of french PREMIERE magazine comment about how he could basically either play the victim or be zen about it and deal with it. he chooses to deal with it. so i think that production “source” is a bit off on this one.

Yes fame has its pluses but the minuses are these animals following them around constantly, screaming at them, making them feel paranoid 24/7. People see the pictures but can you imagine what some of these paps are yelling at them???
“Hate the hair, K”, “Hey R have you done her yet?”
I wouldn’t give them (the paps) the satisfaction of getting close to me either.
Thing is: the more you hide something, the more people want to know about it! It’s just human nature, and it somehow is sticked to the essence of what being human means. So, it also applies for people, IMO.
I think the more Robert Pattinson, or anyone else in the cast, gets “hidden”, the more people will want to know about him. If he just goes out, and does whatever he wants to do, that will leave no place for speculation and gossip, which I think is what is more tortuous. Just have coffee if you want, buy what you want, do what you want, be with whoever you want. At the end of the day it’s his life: people would like him or not! He really isn’t gold as for being of everyone’s appeal.

My guess is that its not that enjoyable to go out and do everyday things while being screamed at, mobbed, potentially injured by paps AND fans.
Some people think it is their right to go around shoving cameras in peoples faces and then have the nerve to bad mouth the stars when they do not perform like good little monkeys in a circus. This is their life and you should respect them as people trying to live their lives doing what they love. Instead any time they step out into the public eye they are constantly disected. Every thing they do or say is then put on the front page of some rag paper so some photograper who couldn’t it in the real world can turn a few bucks. PAPs are pathetic scum of the earth. I cant believe people wonder why he or any other star would hide out.
But if you do everyday things like if you don’t care about the rest of the world, and do them frequently, they will just see there’s nothing “mysterious” about it, so they’d stop bugging around. It’s kind of reverse psychology.
Either way, Papz… definitely their so called professional job should be considered stalking and thus NOT legal. IMO.

Yes, Rob shouldn’t be afraid to leave his hotel b/c of the pap’s but at the same time, things are getting
rediculous. When you have that many people following you around and basically stalking you, you
might just wanna lay low for a while too. Rob is a real person, he has feelings and friends and family
just like everyone else. Just like you and me. I think that once we see that, and we start seeing stars as
people who are doing their job, than we can start to understand that the constant pressure from the pap’s
is getting to be too much. Which one of us would want 100+ people stalking us and trying to find out the
“scoop” on your life. I am in the spotlight alot too (not quite to the same degree but still…) and i understand
the pressure of constantly being watched and having to think about what you say and do all the time. It gets
so tiring and stressful. I understand that actors and actresses agree to some of that when they decide to pursue
a life in the spotlight, but they are still people with feelings and they deserve some privacy and respect. I also
understand that the paparazzi have a job to do too. However, can we all just be curteous and respect peoples privacy a little. It doesn’t matter how famous or popular a person is, they are still a person. They still deserve the same level of respect that a non-famous person gets. If a bunch of photographers went and took photo’s of some
ordinary person, that person would probably freak out. Stars are good at what they do, but enough is enough
seriously Dancing…do some research hon. his team called the paps?? yeah riiiiiight…if u ever took the time of ur day to see a video of remember me filming u’d have seen that at least there were 50 fans screaming like idiots and posting pics and videos in their twitters…that’s how the paps new where he was and where he is: TWITTER. and if he doesn’t want to come out i say good for him…there’s too much over-exposure from this summer in NYC…and i repeat again it wasn’t his fault…blame all the people who begs for a photo of him everyday…so i’m happy he hasn’t been seen too much…he needs a rest or he¿s going to explode..
This is absolutely true. I was out in Vancouver the first week of filming and spoke with one of the cast. Their first words were “we are a prisoner to this hotel” and that was after only being there three weeks ( first two weeks were rehersals and training). Something else said was “Rob and Kristen are not dating.” This person went on to say that they themselves could not even go out for coffee with one of their co-stars in fear of paps getting pictures and then stories start that they too were dating now.
I wish all the paps would go away. Do they really think this is making the cast enjoy their jobs now? They are ruining the movie because the cast hates being there.
There are not tons of fans waiting outside Rob’s hotel….it’s tons of paps. Running up and down the street in packs looking for picture opportunities…They are creepy stalkers.
I agree with what your saying forrest but i also understand that some paparazzi are needed to keeps people happy. But saying that, i TOTALLY agree that things have gotten out of hand. Their are too many paparazzi and too many rumors going around. Honestly, i would love if Rob and Kristen dated. All of the rumors would stop! The pap’s are a great thing to have sometimes, especially for the fans who don’t get to travel to vancouver or italy. They get to see what all goes on at movie sets. But at the same time, people have got to have their space and that many pap’s in one area, doing their darndest to all the a picture and the latest gossip on someone is not helping anyone. I am sure that the pap’s are frustrated with not being able to get their job done, fan’s are frustrated b/c they don’t get to see or see picutres of rob, and the cast and crew are frustrated b/c they can’t do the job they came to do and live their lives. At the moment, no one is happy and their is such an easy solution to it all. Pap’s reduce your number by like 3/4 and back off a little, rob don’t be afraid for a little gossip, your a movie star remember? and fans we can’t have a picture everyday no matter how much we want it so stop pressuring pap’s to get more and more aggressive. It doesn’t help anything…

See what happens when you decide to police the tabloids (way to go!), but bizarrely assume in this posting, that any Tom, Dick or Harriet employed on a movie set is providing you with an objective accounting of the facts (WRONG!). Not only do you risk your own credibility, those female fans of Pattinson who are clearly crazy (and hilariously in denial about Pattinson’s love for, and relationship w/ Kristen Stewart) will beset you with their rants (btw, the one twi-hard Rob fan trying to convince herself Rob & Kris are not ‘dating?’ Restraining order STAT! Please.) At the end of the day Gossipcop, this ’source’ is only giving you their subjective opinion for their own reasons. They don’t even say they’ve talked to Rob and heard him say this. It’s their impression. Frankly, unless they know Rob Pattinson well, or have heard him complaining (things they don’t admit to) they have no basis to assume his feelings about anything, do they? How do other cast members complaining equate to Pattinson feeling the same way? This source’s account is also contradicted by photos of Pattinson out to eat with the cast, getting into cabs, etc. Over the last couple of weeks he’s concert hopped, been to a club, been to sushi and just a few days ago was at a restaurant. Aside from that, just how often should he be ‘out and about’ anyway when he’s working? Just how often would a man even WANT to go out when Kristen Stewart is holed up with him? Let’s not forget Robert stated in interviews way before he had achieved this level of fame, that he was a loner, a homebody who liked to stay in. Given all these facts, number one being he gets a LOT of sweet alone time with his girlfriend – do we really think he’s crying in his beer? Not me. Lastly, and this is just for those jealous weirdo fans who would rather gouge their own eyes out than admit Robert & Kristen are together – the poster ‘Forrest’ is right…you really don’t “date” your fiance. They’re “engaged” not dating. Deal with it. LOL

The SCREAMING fans do make it hard to concentrate. Robert would not have hired body guards if he was not being attacked each day. I too, would like to see updated photos of Robert, but I admire from a far. So far from all the media, interviews, and youtube videos Robert hasn’t had any problems with the normal fans. I know I would have problems with someone always yelling at me, whether good or bad words. And I too, would want some privacy when I am out. If the Robert hate fans would just step into the actors shoes for a day, maybe you would have some compassion for the all-of-a-sudden fame. Remember, this fame came on as a surprise even to Catherine Hardwicke. She thought Kellan would be the guy the screaming girls would fall for. The strong, playful, protector type. Not the shy, confused, emotional type. But as Robert said in one of his interviews, most girls go for the wrong guy. Also, most girls are looking for Edward…he is in the books, not real life.

Does it really matter whether they are together or not? Their lives are hell right now. I just hope some deranged fan or razzi doesn’t injure them in their haste to get close…..The studio needs to provide better protection. Hell, Twilight grossed 380Million dollars, I think they can provide better security.
