VIDEO: Tori Spelling’s Birthday Party For Daughter Hattie Gets “Weird” When Mom Candy & Tatum O’Neal Show Up
Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott throw a birthday party for daughter Hattie on the new “True Tori.” Things get bizarre. A new clip from the episode shows Spelling, dressed as a winged fairy queen of some sort, anticipating with dread her mother Candy’s plans to drop by the party.
She explains, “My mom and I have a really complicated relationship. We see each other when it’s appropriate for the children… I don’t want them to not see their grandmother. But at the same time, we don’t have this relationship where we actively work on anything. We kind of just push it aside, both of us, and there’s always an awkwardness.”
Spelling is also not exactly thrilled about McDermott’s ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace attending the party, and the stress of the situation leads her to retire upstairs with a migraine. Shortly thereafter, Candy Spelling shows up with a special guest, Tatum O’Neal, who scolds McDermott over Spelling’s momentary absence.
“What’s going on? This is turning into the weirdest three-year-old’s birthday party ever,” says McDermott. “I don’t know why [Candy] brought Tatum O’Neal. It’s just a really odd choice of plus-one.” He then goes to give his ailing wife an update on the guests. Will Hattie’s party turn into a nightmare? Check out the video below.
