Troy Ramey “The Voice” Audition Video: Watch “Wild World” Performance!
Troy Ramey blew away the coaches with his Blind Audition on “The Voice” on Monday, turning all four chairs. Check out the video below!
The Long Island resident was inspired by his late father to pursue music, and host Carson Daly was even a fan of his former band. Now Ramey is pursuing a solo career. And for his audition, he chose one of his dad’s favorite songs: “Wild World” by Cat Stevens.
Ramey was barely done with his first line when Blake Shelton hit his button to turn around. You can imagine his anger when Adam Levine turned around, too. And Gwen Stefani pushed her button as well. Then Alicia Keys made it all four chairs. Levine and Shelton both gave standing ovations, too.
“Welcome to Team Adam,” Levine declared right away, calling the contestant “indestructible” and a “major contender to win this thing.” Stefani praised, “It was like it was your song.” Keys told him, “You have lifetimes in your voice. All the greats rolled up into one.”
Ramey was especially happy when Keys called him “cool,” but not as happy as the aspiring star’s mom, who got a hug from Shelton. “I wanted to go ahead and meet the family now,” the country superstar wooed, going on to congratulate the artist on his four-chair turn-around.
But no one seemed more surprised than Stefani when Ramey chose her to be his coach. Watch below!
