Tristan McIntosh “What Hurts The Most” “American Idol” Video: Watch Hollywood Week Performance Here!
Tristan McIntosh had another emotional performance on Wednesday’s “American Idol” during the Hollywood Week solo round. Check out the video below!
As Gossip Cop reported, McIntosh’s initial audition brought all the tears when she was reunited with her mom, who had been serving overseas in the military. Of course, it was the teen’s beautiful voice that got her a golden ticket. And now those two things came together again.
McIntosh and the remaining contestants found out they would have just one night to perfect a song to perform for the judges, family, and friends. What she didn’t realize, however, was that only three contenders max could choose the same track. And upon finding out she was mistakenly the fourth to select Rascal Flatt’s “What Hurts The Most,” the tears came again.
“That song really means a lot to me, because it’s just all the feelings that I could’ve felt why my mom was in Kuwait,” she explained to the cameras as she cried. But in an act of pure selflessness, one of her competitors was “kind enough to give up her spot on the list for the song.” To call McIntosh relieved would be an understatement.
“Since the song is dedicated to my mom, it makes me feel great that she’s here. Whenever, I’m doubting myself, I can look in the audience,” McIntosh said. And that’s exactly what she did. The aspiring star nailed the performance, and found herself “really emotional” again with her mother cheering wildly.
While the judges were prohibited from giving feedback, Keith Urban could be heard whispering to his fellow panelists, “It’s a girls’ season, my word!” Watch for yourself below around the 5:40 mark!
