Trent Harmon “Waiting Game” “American Idol’ Video: Watch All Top 3 Performances!
Trent Harmon made a big play to become the next “American Idol” during the Top 3 performances on Thursday. Check out the videos below!
This week, Harmon had to compete in three rounds, beginning with a “Hometown” choice. He went with Chris Stapleton’s version of “Tennessee Whiskey.” Keith Urban gave a quick standing ovation, and told Harmon, “That was a bullseye.”
Harry Connick, Jr. remarked, “Your voice is so unique and so special. I thought it was a fantastic performance, man.” And Jennifer Lopez said, “It felt so easy, breezy for you. You’re kind of getting your stride right now to make it to the end.”
“Idol” mentor Scott Borchetta chose Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Drink You Away” for Harmon to sing in the second round, and it marked the first time the superstar gave permission for the FOX competition to use one of his songs. Urban told Harmon he was “great,” while Lopez noted, “That’s singing to win.” And Connick pointed out how even the back-up singers were applauding after he finished singing.
For the final round, the judges assigned Harmon Parson James’ “Waiting Game.” Urban said the song was “tailor-made” for him, while Lopez similarly thought it was “perfect” for him. Connick also loved his last song.
