Tracy Morgan And Walmart Reach Settlement For Crash Lawsuit
Tracy Morgan and Walmart have finally reached a settlement, stemming from a deadly car crash last summer that left the comedian severely injured. Morgan announced in a statement on Wednesday that he was “grateful the case was resolved amicably.” He added, “Walmart did right by me and my family, and for my associates and their families.” The details of Walmart’s financial settlement with Morgan have not been disclosed. Walmart also settled with the family of James McNair, who was killed in the car crash, as well as Ardie Fuqua and Jeffrey Millea, who were also both hurt in the accident.
As Gossip Cop reported, Morgan and his friends were involved in an accident on the New Jersey Turnpike in June when a Walmart tractor trailer, driven by Kevin Roper, slammed into the back of Morgan’s limo bus, causing it to spin out of control and then flip over. McNair was killed while the comedian and two of his pals suffered serious injuries. Since then, Morgan has been in physical therapy.
In July, Morgan sued Walmart, alleging the company was “careless and negligent.” He also noted that Walmart should have known Roper was behind the wheel after having been awake for more than 24 hours. What do you think about Walmart reaching a settlement with Morgan?
