According to Star magazine, “Candy Spelling has offered her daughter the deal of a lifetime!”

Ooh, what could it be? Savings of 15% or more on car insurance?

Nope. The mag claims Tori Spelling‘s mom wants to give her $10 million “with one major stipulation: She must divorce her husband of four years, Dean McDermott!”

Explains a Star insider, “Candy despises the guy and wants him out of Tori’s life for good.”

Candy Spelling’s suspicion that McDermott is “bad news” and a “leech” determined to siphon the family’s fortune is what led her to cut Tori out of most of her late father Aaron Spelling‘s estate, alleges the tab. And while mother and daughter have repaired their relationship, Candy “isn’t giving up on kicking [McDermott] to the curb.”

Let Gossip Cop curb Star‘s story right now: This tripe is as ridiculous as it sounds.

For months the mags have insisted Spelling and McDermott have a relationship teetering on the brink of disaster, and for months the mags have been wrong. Star‘s creative (but equally inaccurate) claim of a $10 million cash-for-divorce offer is the latest installment in a failed tab campaign to inject chaos into the couple’s family life.

A rep for Spelling tells Gossip Cop the Star story is “not true” and calls it “ridiculous,” adding that McDermott and his mother-in-law enjoy a “great” relationship.
