Tori Kelly ‘Sing’ “Today” Show Video: Watch “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing” Performance!
Tori Kelly performed “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing” on Monday’s “Today” show to promote Sing. Watch below!
As Gossip Cop has reported, Sing is an upcoming animated family movie about a music competition. Similar to “American Idol” and “The Voice,” the plot has aspiring stars auditioning to participate in a talent show. But in this case, it’s all animals, instead of humans.
Kelly, in her first film role, voices Meena, an elephant whose stage fright threatens to stop her from showing off her incredible voice. The singer, who was actually eliminated from “Idol” during season 9 in 2010, called it “strange” to see herself on-screen in this way. She amusingly admitted, “I never thought I’d be playing an elephant, but I always wanted to do voice acting.”
And she can relate to Meena in a very specific way. “I grew up being really, really shy,” Kelly confessed, explaining how she knew she wanted to sing, but had to get comfortable on a stage. She’s clearly comfortable now, performing her rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing” on the morning show.
The cover is also on the film’s soundtrack, which also features the Wonder and Ariana Grande duet “Faith,” a new song created for the movie. Sing opens in theaters on Wednesday. Check out full video from “Today” below!
