Tony Scott, Director, Dead in Suicide

Tony Scott, the famous director of Top Gun and other hits, committed suicide on Sunday.

He was 68.

Scott jumped to his death from the Vincent Thomas Bridge, which spans Los Angeles Harbor.

His body was pulled from the water by the Los Angeles Police Department and U.S. Coast Guard and later identified at the L.A. County Coroner’s office.

A suicide note was reportedly found in Scott’s office.

The younger brother of fellow director Ridley Scott, his movies included Beverly Hills Cop II, Enemy of the State, True Romance and Days of Thunder.

He directed a number of recent Denzel Washington thrillers — including Man on Fire, Deja Vu, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 and Unstoppable — and produced TV shows including “The Good Wife.”

Scott is survived by his wife, Donna, and their two children.

    wow. i just don’t understand. he had a wife and kids. he had success. some of his films will be remembered for many many years. what could have possibly happened that he would take his own life? i hope his family is ok. or will be ok.

    He must have been depressed to do that and none of his family suspected anything A bit like football manager Gary Speed in the UK,He was commentating on television the day before all smiling and joking,the following day his wife found him hung in the garage.Nobody ever found why,he had everything in life.

    People do things like this and it’s so sad,

    It really makes you stop and think about what is going on in there life’s to make them do things like this .
    You look that people today whats going on in there life and what drives them to do that .
    It make me think of what people are saying and doing to someone right now ? The like of Kristen Stewart – people are Hateing on her and saying things about her , but do there stop to think what it maybe doing to her and how much hurt its do to her , Yes I no she make a mistake people and everyone dose just that everyday people , but it’s people like you that give the hate that makes people go out and just end there life , Why cause some people just can’t take it no more.

    So think about what you say and do to people you don’t really no before it to late.
    She love him , but some where a lot the way she get lose and now everyone is making her pay for .
    Stop the hate people .

    I just hope this mans family ok and god be with them that this time.

    Condolences to his wife and kids. This is truly horrific for them. What kind of pain is so unbearable, what problems so insurmountable that a gentle and kind person would break the hearts of their loved ones just to make it all stop? May he rest in peace.

    I tried to take my life a year ago, the pain in my Jaw is STILL so bad & I need so much to get it fixed or rather less painful. I Love Tony’s films & Wish I could make it better for his family….they say its selfish to take your life, but not when you have no one to mourn for you….what does it matter?
    At least he’s with Jesus now, if his kids read any of this; I KNOW you WILL SEE your Dad again! Blessed Healings, in Tulsa OK
