SOURCE: More to Eva Longoria & Tony Parker Split Than Text Messages

Truth rating: 8

Much has been made of the hundreds of text messages Tony Parker sent to Erin Barry, wife of his former teammate Brent Barry. And while we’ve confirmed the messages were inappropriately suggestive for a married man, they were not the sole cause of his and Eva Longoria‘s breakup.

In fact, Gossip Cop has learned Parker’s flirting with Barry ended over the summer.

What caused Longoria and Parker’s split, says our source, was their distance. We’re told that longterm issues were not easily resolved because the couple didn’t spend enough time together.

Even though our Parker source admits the San Antonio Spurs star strayed briefly in the beginning of their marriage, we’re told there was absolutely nothing physical between him and Barry.

What do you think about Longoria and Parker’s split?

It was wrong of him to send suggestive texts to this woman, but I applaud him for not sleeping with her. Being apart can put strain on a relationship, but what were they doing for the first 4 years? They indeed had a long distance relationship and seemed to maintain it well. It’s something about these people when they get marries, everything seems to go downhill. They can be in a relationship for years, but the moment they get married, they want to call it quits. Marriage is hard work, but if you love someone then it’s all worth it. I don’t think many celebrities take this seriously, they go through marriages like water & they take it too lightly. I hate to say it, but sometimes mesn stray because they’re not satisfied at home. Perhaps if she was doing what she needed to do then the distance wouldn’t have killed the marriage. There are plenty of ways to keep the sparks alive, even in distance; I don’t think that either of these knew what they were doing.

I can’t believe that their marriage ended mainly because of distance. That’s too general. That could have easily been solved, if both parties wanted to work it out. The question is what happened because of not being together the way that they wanted to. I would think that if a person really strayed from the beginning of the marriage in anyway, then maybe he was in doubt about the marriage from the beginning.
