Tony Parker Files For Divorce From Eva Longoria; Full Behind-The-Scenes

Tony Parker has now filed for divorce from Eva Longoria in Texas.

According to Parker’s petition, “The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities” between him and Longoria, and there isn’t “any reasonable expectation of reconciliation.”

Of course, this is the latest in the couple’s ongoing divorce saga, which is shaping up to be a battle.

Two days ago, Longoria filed for divorce in L.A. Superior Court, the same day Us Weekly had a cover story that read “Betrayed By Tony.”

The betrayal, of course, refers to the hundreds of highly inappropriate text messages Parker sent to his former teammate’s wife, Erin Barry.

But it wasn’t the sexting that ended the marriage, says our source. It was “distance.”

We’re told the couple had longterm issues which simply weren’t resolved because they didn’t spend enough time together. And when they did see each other, their issues festered.

Gossip Cop also has it on good authority that Parker wanted to file first for divorce in Texas, but was persuaded by Longoria’s side not to.

Our source says the “Desperate Housewives” star “wanted the headline, ‘Eva Longoria files for divorce from Tony Parker,’ rather than [the headline of] ‘Tony Parker files for divorce from Eva Longoria.’”

Regardless of who filed first – or where – it’s clear Longoria and Parker had their differences, and divorce was an inevitable conclusion.

What are your thoughts about how they’ve handled this?

There seems to be a communication problem from what the article says. Both parties have to work very hard to keep a marriage together. It takes both in fault for a marriage to dissolve. I really don’t get why both are filing for a divorce. They seem to be in competition, rather than sitting down with lawyers to have “1″ civilized adult divorce. I know that divorces can be “hellish”, but at least try very hard to be civil and keep the tabloids out of it.
