Tom Hanks Lost Fordham ID Student Found, Says She’d “Surely Meet” Actor (VIDEO)
Tom Hanks found a lost ID card belonging to a Fordham University student named Lauren on Tuesday, and now the girl herself has been located. Watch the video below.
As Gossip Cop reported, Hanks discovered a Fordham University student ID card while strolling through New York’s Central Park, and later tweeted, “Lauren! I found your Student ID in the park. If you still need it my office will get to you. Hanx.”
WCBS-TV in New York tracked down the student, whose full name is Lauren Whitmore, and got her side of the story. “It was ironic,” she said of how she lost it, noting, “I was out for a run, Forrest,” referring to Hanks’ famous movie character, Forrest Gump, who ran the entirety of the United States.
Whitmore went on to say, “I have not spoken to Tom Hanks personally. If he has my ID and would like to give it back, I will surely meet him to do that.” Unfortunately, the student already spent $20 to get a new ID card printed, but the chance to meet a movie star will be a nice consolation prize.

UPDATE: Whitmore tells “Entertainment Tonight” that she went to Hanks’ New York office on Wednesday, but did not get to meet the star, as he wasn’t there. “I got my old ID back with a little note from him that said make sure I hold on to this, and his signature,” she says. “I’m so thankful that he was kind enough to pay it forward to me, and I will 100 percent do the same for anyone else.”
