VIDEO: Tom Cruise Clings To Plane 5,000 Feet In Air For Mission: Impossible 5 Stunt
Tom Cruise clung to the outside of a plane thousands of feet in the air while recently shooting a stunt for Mission: Impossible 5 in England.
Wearing a stylish suit and a safety harness, Cruise was photographed hanging onto the Airbus A400M as it soared 5,000 feet over the British countryside. While the scene was apparently shot back in September, the astonishing images are surfacing only now. According to reports, Cruise exited the plane’s door as it took off, and then held on as it circled at approximately 250 miles per hour.
The actor famously performs many of his own dangerous stunts, including a scene in which he dangled from Dubai’s Burj Kahlifa, the world’s tallest building, for Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. It looks like he may outdo himself for the new sequel, which is expected to open in late 2015. The film also stars Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton and Alec Baldwin.
Not much is known about the upcoming adventures of Cruise’s character Ethan Hunt, but if the plane pictures are any indication, he won’t be slowing down just because the man playing him is 52 years old. Check out the death-defying stunt in the video below, and tell us what you think. Note: Video no longer available.
