CLAIM: Tom Cruise Secretly Dated Actress Nazanin Boniadi Before Katie Holmes

Truth rating: 1

(Vanity Fair)

Tom Cruise’s Scientology Marriages: The Secret Wife-Auditioning Process Before Katie Holmes, Revealed” reads the headline of a Vanity Fair article.

In the magazine’s October issue, special correspondent Maureen Orth claims that prior to Cruise’s relationship with Holmes, “Nazanin Boniadi, an Iranian-born, London-raised actress, was selected to date Cruise from November 2004 until January 2005.”

According to Orth’s “sources,” Boniadi was extensively “audited” before being set up with Cruise, and allegedly had to divulge “her innermost secrets and every detail of her sex life.”

She was also allegedly “told to lose her braces, her red highlights, and her boyfriend.”

After signing a confidentiality agreement, Orth claims Boniadi and Cruise began dating — but while “the first month of the relationship was bliss, by the second month Boniadi was more and more often found wanting.”

“Anything she said or did that Cruise found fault with he immediately reported to a member of the Scientology staff, and she would be audited for it,” alleges Orth.

The relationship supposedly continued to go downhill until Boniadi was allegedly asked to move out of Cruise’s home.

Claims Orth, “A Scientology official allegedly told her, by way of explanation, “Naz, you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.”

So, to recap: Cruise — who has been known for very public relationships with Holmes, Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz, among others — supposedly dated Boniadi for several months, but no one outside of Scientology knew because Boniadi was forced to sign a confidentiality agreement?

How convenient.

In any case, a rep for Cruise is blasting Vanity Fair‘s story, telling Gossip Cop, “Lies in a different font are still lies – designed to sell magazines.”

Eeermm, I dunno, GC, I would gently caution you to double-check your sources and be very sure about this. Maureen Orth is a journalist of impeccable credentials and stellar reputation. She doesn’t tend to write bullshit.

Paul Haggis has already confirmed the story, and I have no reason to doubt Paul Haggis.

Gossip Cop, your sources from Tom Cruise are from Scientology. Of course they are going to deny it. This is Vanity Fair with a respected journalist. Chose your battles more wisely.

I have to agree that Maureen Orth has great credentials. From the start it was always rumored that Katie Holmes (unbeknownst to her) was selected for Cruise because of her youth, sunny disposition and innocence. You can tell by her demeanor over the years how unhappy she was. People dismiss the The Church of Scientology thinking that it’s too far fetched or crazy to be true. Cruise is the big cheeze with the church. Way too many stories have circulated about Cruise and his dealings with the church to dismiss.

I don’t think Vanity Fair would print this article unless they have the facts to support it. VF had a good relationship with Tom over the years and I don’t think they would risk it on a bs story. What I am sensing, from all the articles about Tom, is people (friends/family) want him to leave the Church of Scientology.

I am not sure why this is even news or why anyone would care. A lot of celebrities date people in between more public relationships. Besides this happen years ago.

Gossipcop says it’s not true because someone paid gossipcop, probably a Scientology rep, to say it isn’t true. That’s the gossipcop business plan. I’m going to believe Vanity Fair over gossipcop any day of the week.

“In any case, a rep for Cruise is blasting Vanity Fair‘s story, telling Gossip Cop, “Lies in a different font are still lies – designed to sell magazines.”

Well, of course a rep for Cruise is going to say that; they’re not going bend over and admit that the story is true. That would essentially be tantamount to admitting Cruise’s entire life is a facade, and you bet they’re not admitting THAT. That facade is what keeps them employed.

It’s good that you offered them an opportunity to respond to the article —but no, I’m sorry, I cannot accept “a rep for Cruise” as a reliable rebuttal source for Orth’s story.

Doesn’t it strike anyone as odd that one of the most litigious organizations in the world (CoS) and possibly the most litigious actor in the world (Tom Cruise) have not sued Vanity Fair yet? Could it be because there are too many witnesses and there is too much evidence that could be presented in a court room to prove their guilt? They know what they did to Nazanin Boniadi. Vanity Fair did not give some vague description of what happened. Orth named hotels, gave dates, named individuals involved in the set-up. Does anyone seriously believe that Graydon Carter would jeopardize his relationships with CAA and others in the industry and allow this article to be printed in his reputable magazine if he had not fact-checked and got legal clearance on the entire story?
Of course the CoS refutes everything Orth wrote in Vanity Fair. There is no way they would ever admit to such heinous wrongdoings. It would be like a criminal publicly confessing their crimes. They have no sense of right and wrong, no conscience, no remorse, and no sense of responsibility. They would like people to believe that anyone who speaks out against them is doing so because of some hidden agenda, because they are bitter “apostates”, not because they were victims of a cult. Given the vast number of people who are alleging abuse at the highest levels inside Scientology, their blanket denials have simply become a joke. They seem to be wholly responsible for any “good” they supposedly create, but cannot take an ounce of accountability for any valid criticism or any wrongdoing on their part.
Also, it is a shame that Cruise’s publicist, Amanda Lundberg, herself a woman, is not outraged by the violations of Nazanin Boniadi’s rights, and is blindly defending her misogynistic client for her own financial gain. She was not present in Cruise’s life in 2004 and 2005. Clearly she is not a big women’s rights advocate.
It is also interesting to note that while initially Cruise’s lawyer Bert Fields called the entire Vanity Fair story “tired old lies”, he recently issued a statement to the Hollywood Reporter that “Even if you believed Orth’s story — which no intelligent person should — even she doesn’t claim that Tom knew what she claims the church was doing. So please don’t write that her article shows Tom’s involvement in this claimed conduct. It doesn’t.” Doesn’t this contradict his initial statement? Is it not a clear confirmation that Cruise was indeed in a relationship with Boniadi, even if he was supposedly not aware of the set-up or Boniadi’s treatment post-break-up? It is fascinating that while Boniadi stays mum on the entire subject, Cruise and his representatives keep digging themselves deeper into PR hell with their idiotic statements. Even his PR’s recent statement to the Hollwyood Reporter was basically a confirmation that he did indeed have a relationship with Boniadi. Lundberg told The Hollywood Reporter: “Does he meet people at the church? Yes. Do others meet people at their church or temple? Yes. Is this scandalous? Of course not.”
Yes, Cruise had a relationship with Boniadi. Yes, he was fully aware that his best friend, David Miscavige, was pimping and pandering for him. No, he did not have the courage to personally break up with her. And yes, he reveled in the control and punishment bestowed upon her by his CoS handlers during and post their break up. But then, of course his reps would never admit to any of that.
It seems to me that Cruise and his reps are purposely pushing Boniadi to speak out and confirm the Vanity Fair story. I for one hope that happens sooner rather than later.

I guess you are either extremely blind to the Human Rights violations and Human Trafficking that Maureen Orth’s article is addressing which Nazanin Boniadi was subjected to by Corporate Scientology and Tom Cruise . It doesn’t matter how long ago it happened, the whole thing was/is VERY wrong.
