Tom Cruise ‘Leaving Scientology For Suri’?

Tom Cruise may be “leaving Scientology for Suri,” according to a cover story from In Touch.
The magazine, which ran an (equally inaccurate) version of this story last month, alleges that Cruise spending Thanksgiving with Suri “could be a sign” that he’s “pulling away from the religion.”
How is spending time with one’s daughter supposedly evidence of such a major shift?
In Touch consults a number of “ex-Scientologists” — who have no connection to Cruise — who claim that the movie star’s recent actions show he’s cutting ties with the Church.
One of these supposed “sources” speculates, “I think Tom decided it’s in Suri’s best interest to give his energy to her over the Church.”
The insider adds that because Katie Holmes cut ties with the Church, she’s likely been labeled a “suppressive person” with whom Cruise is not supposed to have contact, which could thereby “complicate Tom’s contact with Suri.”
Another so-called “source” tells the mag that some parents belonging to the Church “aren’t even allowed to say hello” to their non-Scientologist children.
The tabloid concludes, “As loyal as he may be to the Church, he longs to keep [Suri] in his life.”
Well, that’s true.
But as much as In Touch may love the drama of Cruise being forced to choose between his daughter and his religion, the two are NOT mutually exclusive.
Cruise talks to Suri nearly every day and sees her whenever he can while still remaining a part of the Church.
A rep for Cruise tells Gossip Cop the claim that he’s leaving Scientology “isn’t true.”
