Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Officially Divorced

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are officially divorced.

The case was closed on Monday, August 20, according to New York City court documents.

A legal expert tells Gossip Cop that Cruise and Holmes’ divorce was likely expedited due to their celebrity status.

Holmes announced she was leaving Cruise on June 29, and the former couple reached a settlement less than two weeks later, paving the way for the divorce to become official.

The actress was granted primary legal custody of their daughter Suri, with Cruise given generous visitation rights.
