Tom Cruise NOT Gaining Weight For Drug Smuggler Role And Oscar, Despite Report
Tom Cruise is going to pack on the pounds to play real-life drug smuggler Barry Seal in his next movie, and his friends are worried the “sudden weight gain could pose a serious health risk,” according to a new story. But Gossip Cop can exclusively report that it is not true.
According to OK!, Cruise feels the part is “Oscar bait,” and the actor doesn’t care whether putting on all the weight will adversely affect his health. A so-called “source” tells the tabloid: “He knows physical change is the best way to impress the Academy.”
You know what would impress Gossip Cop? If OK! would finally fact-check and get a story right. The magazine has published so many falsehoods about Cruise that we’ll limit our examples to just a few. The tabloid claimed several times that Cruise and Katie Holmes were reuniting. None of those stories were true. Neither were the magazine’s reports about Cruise buying his daughter Suri her own home in London or giving her $5 million for her birthday. And just a few months ago, OK! embarrassed itself more (if possible) with a wholly fictitious cover story about how the actor and Lindsay Lohan were “hooking up.”
Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with Cruise’s rep, who exclusively tells us he’s “not gaining weight” for the role. OK! is once again caught in a fat lie.
