Daily Mail Claim About Tom Cruise Making His Assistant “Next Girlfriend” Is Wrong
Tom Cruise does not have a “crush” on his 22-year-old assistant Emily, as Gossip Cop exclusively reported two days ago. The entirely untrue claim was first floated in the new issue of Us Weekly, which alleged the superstar is “always flirting” with her on the set of Mission: Impossible 5. Cruise’s rep even told Gossip Cop that talk linking him to his assistant is “false.”
Still, the Daily Mail regurgitated the bogus report on Friday, stating, “He’s already asked Emily to go out to dinner with him, on a date, when they’re done shooting.” The unreliable British tabloid tries to support the fictitious premise that Cruise is going after his assistant by adding that he’s dated younger women before and, much like other women with whom he’s been linked, his righthand woman has “long hair.” Oh, stop the presses!
The Daily Mail then offers this bit of information in an attempt to tie Cruise romantically to his assistant. The paper notes that in September, Cruise was “spotted with a mystery woman who appears to be” his assistant, and they were standing “side-by-side as he took a break from filming in London.” Wait, Cruise was busted standing near his assistant on the set of his movie?
The two-days-late story by the Daily Mail is entirely wrong and beyond laughable. Of course, this should not surprise anyone. The paper has a history of being off-base with stories about Cruise and “mystery” women. The paper once pathetically wrote about a dinner Cruise had with a “mystery female companion,” who Gossip Cop revealed was none other than actress Roma Downey. But the best part of that phony story was that the Daily Mail showed Cruise walking out the restaurant, following dinner with the “mystery” woman, and in the background of that photo was producer Mark Burnett, Downey’s husband.
The only thing that sadly is not a “mystery” is how sloppy the Daily Mail can be with its reporting.
