Toddlers & Tiaras Has 4-Year-Old “Smoking” Prop Cigarette (VIDEO)

VIDEO

(TLC)

“Toddlers & Tiaras” continues to cause controversy.

Last year, one stage mom drew criticism when she costumed her three-year-old daughter as Julia Roberts prostitute character from Pretty Woman.

This week, another mother is under fire for having her four-year-old dress as Sandy from Grease, complete with a prop cigarette.

In the video below, little Destiny rehearses with her faux cigarette, telling her mom, “I need the real cigarette.”

And before the child goes on stage, her mother, who defends her controversial choice in the name of “acting,” tells her daughter, “Don’t forget to smoke!”

A number of audience members and judges alike are shocked when the child enters the pageant stage “puffing” on the faux cigarette.

The show is disgusting… but what is even worse is that so many people support these shows by watching them…

I’m not going to comment on the cigarette thing because I remember I had a fake one as a kid, bought it from the ice cream truck. When you puffed into it, it looked like it lit up like a real cigarette but that didn’t make me into a smoker. Though I don’t think she should have given her daughter that, it should have been a lollipop or straw.
What irritates me is when people think that all pageants and pageant moms are like the ones on this show. My niece does pageants & my cousin runs one(that was featured on an episode of Toddlers & Tiaras), most are nothing like they show on this series. Everything is exaggerated for the sake of entertainment. I don’t watch this show because many of the kids are super bratty & the moms feed into it, but this does not represent what pageant life is all about.

I remember candy cigarettes, they came in a box. had red tips, and they crunched when you ate them …….I guess they don’t make those anymore I mean can you imaging the tax on those!!! [I live in NYS we tax the crap out of cigs]

wow,, this fake cigarette is drawing so much public attention ….it amazes me how this grows such a concern but ppl ignore the fact that these are toddlers having spray tans, fake nails, and wearing more makeup than i would let my teenage daughter wear
this is really not a show i would want any of my children to be watching ….toddlers are going to grow up fast enough without having to be forced into dressing and acting like adult divas
