Todd Palin Update: Sarah Palin Reveals Husband Getting Bionic Parts Following Snowmobile Crash
Sarah Palin provided an update on Thursday on her husband Todd Palin’s health condition following a snowmobile crash in Alaska earlier this week. The former vice presidential candidate has revealed that in order to repair his serious injuries, doctors are inserting bionic parts into him.
On her official Facebook page, Palin explained that Todd was still recovering in the ICU after a number of surgeries. The former Alaska Governor went on to note that doctors had “repaired numerous breaks in Todd’s upper body… essentially lifted and secured every rib with steel bands, anchored the broken clavicle with plates and rods, set aside repair of a broken shoulder for later… [and are] still mechanically inflating one collapsed lung.”
But the operations Palin cited were just a few of the major procedures. She went on to say that Todd is still dealing with “ACL/MCL knee injuries,” a “bruised liver,” and will need to have a “chest drain.” Palin also acknowledged, “Some gnarly incisions to enter his innards will be reminders of how life can change in the blink of an eye.” However, she did add some levity to the situation, quipping, “Skating through TSA detectors with bionic parts will now be anything but the blink of an eye!”
Palin went on to express her gratitude for “today’s medical technology” that helped save her husband’s life, and voiced her appreciation for all of those “lifting Todd up in prayer.” And in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, Palin also quoted an old Irish proverb, writing, “A good laugh and a long sleep are the two best cures for anything.”
