‘Today’ Show Anchors’ Moms Surprise Them For Mother’s Day (VIDEO)
The “Today” show anchors got a Mother’s Day surprise on Friday’s show when all of their moms came out on live TV to greet their kids. Watch the video below!
“We picked some special moms from our plaza, and we wanted them to join us for a Mother’s Day brunch,” announced co-host Savannah Guthrie, who was seemingly the only one in on the surprise. Lined up were co-anchors Al Roker, Carson Daly, Natalie Morales, Willie Geist, Hoda Kotb and Sheinelle Jones, whose moms all came out one-by-one. There were lots of hugs, kisses and tears during the impromptu reunions.
As the respective parents caught up with their kids and made their ways to the on-set brunch tables while having separate conversations, Roker joked, “Does anybody understand what anybody’s saying?!”
Earlier in the show, some of the female anchors were featured in a segment in which they talked about being moms themselves and how it’s changed their lives. “There are those moments where you think, ‘All right, I’m officially a mom,'” noted Guthrie. “When I find my toothbrush in my shoe, I know, OK, there’s a new person who has moved in and she is running the place.” Morales added, “When I had my kids in my arms it was like: This is what I was meant to do.” And Jones expressed, “When they get here, and you lay eyes on that little boy or that little girl, it’s like you didn’t realize that your heart could love so much.”
