“Today” Show Halloween Video 2016: Co-Hosts In 1990s Pop Culture Costumes
The Today show co-hosts dressed up in 1990s pop culture costumes for the morning show’s 2016 Halloween celebration. Watch the video below!
Shortly after 8 a.m., the show went back to 1999 with Carson Daly reprising his role as host of “TRL,” saying they’d be looking back at pop culture moments from the 1990s. That began with Willie Geist and Tamron Hall coming out as Uma Thurman and John Travolta’s characters in Pulp Fiction. Next came Al Roker as Steve Urkel.
A pregnant Savannah Guthrie recreated Demi Moore’s Vanity Fair cover, while Daly now appeared as Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator in Judgment Day. That was followed by Kathie Lee Gifford as Regis Philbin and Hoda Kotb portraying Gifford herself. There was even a cameo from the real Philbin.
And then lastly, Matt Lauer came out as Jerry Seinfeld in his infamous puffy shirt. With the group all together on the Plaza, Lauer observed, “We look at Carson today and when he actually hosted ‘TRL,’ he doesn’t look any different.”
As Gossip Cop reported at the time, last year the “Today” show featured Lauer and co-hosts as the Peanuts gang. Check out this year’s costume reveal below!
