Tina Fey And Kurt Russell Act Out ‘Star Wars’ Scene As Princess Leia And Han Solo (VIDEO)
During an interview on the British talk show, Russell explained how he had auditioned to play Han Solo in the original Star Wars, but the role obviously went to Harrison Ford. However, Russell revealed that he bailed on the part before director George Lucas had even made a casting decision. The actor explained that another job opportunity arose, and he “needed the work.”
“So what did you do instead of Star Wars?,” Norton asked, to which Russell clarified, “Well, I didn’t do it instead of Star Wars, he may not have used me.” Fey then joked, “You turned down Star Wars!” a claim that Russell vehemently denied.
Fey, whose new movie Sisters opens on the same day as the highly-anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, noted she was a “big fan of Star Wars as a kid,” and even dressed up like Princess Leia on her former TV show “30 Rock.”
Russell and Fey’s loose connections to the Star Wars characters naturally prompted Norton to have the two act out the famous scene in which Leia professes her love for Solo. “I love you,” Fey said in character, to which Russell smoothly shot back, “I know.” Fey joked, “See, that’s cool. He should have booked it.” Watch the video of the funny reenactment below, and tell Gossip Cop what you think.
