This morning on “The Today Show,” Matt Lauer welcomed Time managing editor Rick Stengel to discuss the six finalists for the magazine’s annual “Person of the Year” cover.

“It’s the person or thing that has most influenced the culture and the news in the past year, both good or for ill,” explains Stengel.

As always, it’s an eclectic mix.

Mark Zuckerberg

Tea Party

The “Person” will be announced on Wednesday.
