Tila Tequila Apology: I’m “100 Percent Not A Nazi Supporter”
Tila Tequila, who was booted from “Celebrity Big Brother” on Friday after it was brought to the attention of the show’s producers that she made a pro-Hitler rant in 2013, is now apologizing for her remarks. The reality star says in a new Facebook post that she’s neither a “racist nor antisemitic,” and that her remarks that defended Hitler and the extermination of six million Jews were made at a time when she was “suffering severe depression, drug addiction, and [was] suicidal.”
As Gossip Cop reported back then, Tequila posted a photo of herself wearing a swastika and SS guard hat, superimposed in front of Auschwitz, to spew her support of Hitler and Nazism. As Channel 5 noted in its statement about throwing Tequila out of the “Celebrity Big Brother” house, at no time since her Hitler rant did Tequila apologize. In fact, she left her racist remarks “remain uncorrected.”
Curiously, only after Tequila was removed pulled from the UK reality show did she say she’s sorry. In her latest mea culpa, Tequila says, “Back in 2013 I made a statement about Hitler not being a bad person, and immediately realized soon after that I had made a terrible mistake that would ultimately come back to haunt me.”
She tries to explains, “During that time I had been suffering from severe depression, and drug addiction for many years prior to that. I also attempted to commit suicide in 2012, and overdosed on prescription pills. I wanted to die. I felt worthless, and unloved as that pain continued to grow causing me to further spiral out of control.” Tequila adds, “Losing touch of myself, and reality. It was absolutely the lowest point I had ever reached in my life, and today I am truly sorry to everyone that I may have hurt along my self-destructive path.”
The reality star further expresses, “I hope that I will be given a second chance at life to make things right again. We all make mistakes in life, and I have unfortunately made many in the public eye. Although I cannot do much to change my past mistakes now, I can however, try to make things right from this moment forward, and be the best person that I can be.” Tequila goes on to stress, “I am in no way, shape or form a racist nor antisemitic, and absolutely 100% not a Nazi supporter.”
