T.I. Defends Chris Brown On “The View” (VIDEO)
Brown shares custody of his 2-year-old daughter Royalty with her mom Nia Guzman, and the two don’t always see eye to eye. And after Guzman recently posted an Instagram photo of Royalty in a tutu outfit, Brown allegedly commented that the outfit was too revealing and too adult for such a young child, particularly with the photo’s angle giving an upskirt impression. The two allegedly went back and forth about the issue in the Instagram post’s comments section.
And now T.I., himself a father of seven, was asked to weigh in on the situation during his appearance on “The View.” The rapper responded, “I know I’m in a room full of ladies, but I agree with Chris. Just simply because I’m a father. We see the world through the eyes of a man, and I don’t think anyone necessarily knows what that’s like.”
“It’s our job to protect our daughters from that type of perception,” T.I. said. He went on to also argue, “I think it happens on the other side [too]. When I deal with my sons, and how they would like to deal with girls at an early age, and how they feel about girls, their mothers have a fit. ‘No, those little girls ain’t gonna trick my baby!'”
T.I. added, “So it happens on both sides. We have to respect and appreciate each other’s efforts. That’s why parenting is a joint job.” Whoopi Goldberg, however, offered a different opinion, saying that Royalty wasn’t set up in the photo to be “provocative.” “Two-year-olds is not sexual,” she said. “Once you put it out there, once you say, ‘this is a sexual pose,’ you put it in people’s minds.”
T.I. replied, “From my opinion, it’s not so much about the sexiness as a pedophile would see it as just kind of instilling that into the child early on, prematurely, before they’re old enough.” That prompted Goldberg to acknowledge, “We shouldn’t be raising fast kids.”
Brown hasn’t yet commented on T.I. supporting him. Watch the full segment on the topic below.
