The Weeknd Arrested For Allegedly Punching Cop in Las Vegas
The Weeknd was arrested for allegedly punching a cop in Las Vegas on Saturday. The R&B singer is said to have been involved in a fight that began at approximately 4:20 a.m. in the Cromwell Hotel. According to TMZ, cops who arrived on the scene discovered the brawl still in full swing. When one officer took The Weeknd into an elevator during the melee, he allegedly punched the cop in the head.
He eventually posted bail and left the city. The specific charges against him have not been reported. Over the weekend, The Weeknd posted an Instagram picture of himself walking toward a private jet, with the caption, “Escaped from Las Vegas.” He tweeted the same image late Saturday. The Weeknd’s subsequent posts made no reference to the allegations.
The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, released his debut studio album Kiss Land in 2013. He subsequently contributed “Devil May Cry” to The Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack and collaborated with Ariana Grande on the hit song “Love Me Harder.” Watch the music video below.
