“The Voice” Results: Top 9 Revealed After Instant Save And Elimination
“The Voice” eliminated another contestant on Tuesday’s live results show, which featured the reveal of season 9’s Top 9 and another Instant Save.
As Gossip Cop reported, the Top 10 all performed live on Monday. The coaches repeatedly commented that there was vast improvement among the contestants. That showed on the iTunes singles chart, which had seven artists in the top 10 when voting closed at noon, a record for the NBC music competition.
It was no surprise then when Carson Daly revealed Braiden Sunshine (Team Gwen) and Korin Bukowski (Team Gwen) were in the Bottom Two, as both aspiring stars failed to chart high enough on iTunes to have their viewer votes multiplied. This also marked the third time Bukowski would have to fight for redemption. Even worse, Gwen Stefani had to watch her two artists compete against each other for the sole remaining spot in the Top 9.
For the instant save, each had the chance to sing one more time in hopes of winning the Twitter vote. Bukowski went with Colbie Caillat’s “Try,” while Sunshine performed Maroon 5’s “Harder To Breathe.” Astonishingly, Bukowski forgot much of the lyrics, perhaps caving under the pressure, which Daly had actually asked her about earlier in the show.
In the end, SUNSHINE WON! And Bukowski was heartbreakingly given the boot.
The new team standings are as follows. Adam Levine still has all three of his contestants: Jordan Smith, Amy Vachal and Shelby Brown. Blake Shelton also still has a full team with Emily Ann Roberts, Barret Baber. and Zach Seabaugh. Pharrell is still down to just Madi Davis. And now Stefani is left with Jeffery Austin and Sunshine.
Next week, the new Top 9 will all be mentored by Dolly Parton and perform on Monday for the semifinals, before a bloodbath on Tuesday, in which five contestants are eliminated at once. TELL US: What do you think of tonight’s results?
