“The Voice” Results: Top 4 Finalists Revealed After Shocking Elimination
“The Voice” Top 4 finalists for season 9 were revealed in an unprecedented live results show on Tuesday.
As Gossip Cop reported, the Top 9 all competed in the semifinal round on Monday. This was the first time the NBC competition had so many contestants still in the running this late in the game. And that meant that more than half had to be eliminated before next week’s finale.
There was no way for the results show not to be a bloodbath, but here’s exactly how it worked: Based on votes, the three highest vote-getters automatically made it into the Top 4. On the flipside, the three lowest vote-getters were automatically given the boot. But the three that placed in the middle (spots four, five, and six based on the votes) had to compete for the final Top 4 slot by participating in the Instant Save.
The three artists with the most votes were Jordan Smith (Team Adam), Emily Ann Roberts (Team Blake), and Barrett Baber (Team Blake). They’ll all get to compete in next week’s finale. But the three artists with the least votes, Amy Vachal (Team Adam), Shelby Brown (Team Adam), and Braiden Sunshine (Team Gwen), were all sent packing.
That left Jeffery Austin (Team Gwen), Madi Davis (Team Pharrell), and Zach Seabaugh (Team Blake) to sing for redemption. And based on the Twitter vote afterward, JEFFERY AUSTIN WON! The other two were heartbreakingly eliminated.
Here are the new team standings for next week’s finale: Adam Levine has Jordan Smith. Blake Shelton has Emily Ann Roberts and Barrett Baber. And Gwen Stefani has Jeffery Austin. Unfortunately, Pharrell does not have any artists competing. TELL US: Who are hoping wins “The Voice” season 9?
