“The View” Debates Trumpcare CBO Report – WATCH VIDEO
On Tuesday’s “The View,” the co-hosts debated the CBO report on Trumpcare. Check out the video below.
The Congressional Budget Office released a damning assessment of Trumpcare on Monday, predicting that Republicans’ proposed replacement for Obamacare will leave a tremendous amount of people uninsured, in addition to making cuts against Medicare and Medicaid. “Didn’t Trump have different plans when he was running?” Joy Behar now asked on the ABC talk show.
Indeed, the program played a clip of Trump vowing there wouldn’t be any cuts to Medicare and Medicaid. “I guess he was ‘joking’ about that,” Behar sarcastically said, referring to Sean Spicer saying Trump should be believed “if he’s not joking.” She went on to complain, “It took Republicans seven years to come up with this crazy plan. Seven years. And they still don’t have it.”
Paula Faris, however, stressed about the CBO’s findings, “These are estimates. They are hypotheticals. They are projections, and they were wrong about Obamacare.” Jedediah Bila, though, called it a “terrible plan” because of its similarities to the current legislation. “When Republicans are up for reelection, they’re going to suffer. It’s a modification of Obamacare,” she lamented.
This led to an extended argument on whether healthcare should be mandated and a “government-regulated system,” and whether subsidies or tax credits are better. As the tension increased, everyone talked over each other. Watch below.
