Taylor Swift was mostly praised by the co-hosts of “The View” on Tuesday for her empowering Grammys speech. Check out the video below!

As Gossip Cop reported, Swift won Album of the Year for 1989 at the 58th annual Grammy Awards on Monday. In her acceptance speech, the superstar encouraged people watching to not let anyone “undercut” their success. The comments seemed to be a response to Kanye West, who, as we noted last week, released a controversial new song in which he took credit for her fame.

A clip of Swift’s speech was played on Tuesday’s “The View,” after which Whoopi Goldberg said of West, “He’s been going after her for the last six years. One would think it’s time she kind of said something.”

Michelle Collins actually tried to argue that it was an “honor” West referenced Swift in his rap, and said that Swift’s speech came off as a “little angry” and had the “wrong tone.” The comedienne even read a tweet that said, “It was like when the mean head cheerleader wins homecoming queen and then bashes everyone for not supporting her.”

Joy Behar, however, disagreed, saying, “I don’t think that’s fair to the girl. I mean, she’s been pummeled by this guy for a long time now.” Goldberg then shot Collins down when she said West “put her on the map.” The moderator responded, “I like her. I don’t know her music all that much, it’s not my style, but this girl had what she had and that’s why she won.”

Goldberg continued, “I kind of I feel like if someone is taking you to task — and he does it all the time and she’s not the only one he does it to, but everyone else has sort of made their answers to him — and maybe, you know, she don’t want to be nice anymore. Maybe she’s just tired of it and says, ‘Look, I got here. You didn’t. We didn’t have sex. You didn’t put me here.’”

Paula Faris agreed, and chimed in to call Swift’s actions “classy.” And when Raven-Symone, too, tried to take West’s side, saying that he was going “off his rocker” from his mother’s death (in 2007) and the pressure of keeping up his persona, she was also largely shut down.
