“The View” Spoofs Botched GOP Debate Introduction — WATCH VIDEO!
Monday’s “The View” kicked off with a funny spoof of the GOP debate’s botched introductions. Watch below!
During Saturday’s Republican debate in New Hampshire, the crowd’s cheers made it difficult for the presidential candidates to hear when their names were called. Ben Carson was the first to screw up, standing in the wings despite being announced. Donald Trump followed, and seeing Carson standing there, he stopped, too. Jeb Bush flew right by both of them, making it all the more awkward as Trump and Carson continued to wait. Their names were eventually announced again in what made for a very cringe-worthy opening.
In its parody, “The View” opened Monday not with the co-hosts coming out all together as usual, but an announcer calling out each by name. Paula Faris appeared first, waving as she made her entrance on cue. Raven-Symone, however, stopped in the entryway, ignoring a staffer’s urges to go out, much like Carson did. Joy Behar then followed suit, with Michelle Collins breezing past them both.
Whoopi Goldberg, too, sidestepped past her colleagues and went to the main stage. She then called out to Behar and Raven, “Come on, bitches, come on!” The two stayed in character for a few more moments before coming out to take their proper places at “The View” table. Check out the clip below!
