“The View” Reacts: Kellyanne Conway’s Ivanka Trump Endorsement (VIDEO)
As Gossip Cop reported, Conway said to “go buy Ivanka’s stuff” during a TV interview, in violation of ethics rules. Press Secretary Sean Spicer later said she had been “counseled” over the issue. On the talk show, Joy Behar now asked, “What does that she mean she was counseled — she got a raise?”
Jedediah Bila said, “It means they said ‘don’t do that.’ You have people on both sides of the aisle saying this violates ethic rules… Whether you’re Republican or Democrat, she needed to be scolded.” Paula Faris predicted, “There could be serious repercussions for her… and long-term consequences for her.”
Added Sara Haines, “I think it’s an important to note that it’s so wrong that there’s no one who can stand up for it.” But Behar thought there was an unfortunate double-standard. “It’s interesting that she can violate ethics rules and get in trouble,” she said, but Trump hasn’t faced consequences for some of his questionable behavior.
The panelists were divided, however, on whether Conway “knows better.” Meanwhile, guest co-host Bob Saget tried to lighten the discussion by saying the White House has “great merch,” and quipping, “I’ve worn a lot of Ivanka’s clothes, and I love them.” Check out the video below.
