“The View” Slams Kellyanne Conway “Alternative Facts,” Sean Spicer Press Conference – WATCH VIDEO
“The View” slammed Kellyanne Conway’s “alternative facts” comment and Sean Spicer’s controversial press conference on Monday’s “The View.” Check out the video below.
On Saturday, Spicer, who is President Trump’s press secretary, read a statement from the Briefing Room in which he declared, “This was the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration, period, both in person and around the globe.” Evidence, however, indicates Trump’s swearing-in ceremony had less attendees than President Obama’s 2009 inauguration, leading Conway to defend Spicer’s declaration as an “alternative fact.”
After replaying the clip of Spicer, Joy Behar declared, “He should know better than to parrot what his boss is telling him. He’s the worst one in a way because he does know better. We’ve met him, he’s been here. He seemed fairly normal.”
Sunny Hostin called Spicer’s comment “disconcerting,” noting, “He is responsible for disseminating information on behalf of the administration, on behalf of the government. If we can’t believe what he is telling us, what can we believe?”
The panel was largely in agreement, and the Spicer discussion gave way to a related “hot topic.” After Conway’s “alternative facts” clip from “Meet The Press” was shown, Whoopi Goldberg said, “I was raised that an alternative fact is not a fact. An alternative fact is a lie.”
Jedediah Bila called out the pair for lying about something “so stupid like a crowd [size],” and said instead they “could’ve come out like, ‘Yeah, you know what, Barack Obama got better crowds than we did, and hopefully we’ll do great things with policy and we’ll come through and people will have our backs.'”
As the talk went on, Behar actually encouraged Spicer to quit, and cracked, “I would like to say that I am actually five feet seven, 120 pounds soaking wet. I used to be a runway model, and I’m 25 years old. Okay? That’s the alternative facts.” Watch below.
