“The View” Reacts: Donald Trump Defends Wiretap Claims – WATCH VIDEO
On Thursday’s “The View,” the co-hosts reacted to Donald Trump defending his wiretap claims. Watch below.
In an interview broadcast on Wednesday, Trump said he put “wiretap” in quotes because it “covers a lot of different things,” not just actual wiretapping. He insisted things will “come to the forefront” to prove his allegations. The ABC talk show played the clip, after which Joy Behar exclaimed, “Ugh, every day is a nightmare with this guy.”
Whoopi Goldberg pointed out, “When they redid Trump Tower, when they put all the stuff in that keeps things from exploding the windows, one would think that when they retrofitted the building, if they were any wiretaps, they would’ve mentioned it earlier.” And in response to Trump’s insistence that his wording meant more than just a wiretap, she countered, “That’s not really what he was saying. He was accusing President Obama of wiretapping.”
Behar also stressed, “He didn’t use quotes in every tweet,” and also expressed frustration with Trump making strong allegations without proof. “We’re still waiting for the evidence that three million voters voted for Hillary. His new slogan should be Making America Wait Again.”
In line with her colleagues, Sunny Hostin complained, “He said wiretapping and now he’s saying ‘I’m talking about a broader thing.'” And Sara Haines shared her disappointment that this is potentially distracting from other important issues, such as gun use. As she spoke at length about a particular bill, they all agreed that constituents should be vocal with their representatives to fight questionable policy and behavior. Check out the videos below.
