“The View” Reacts: Donald Trump Claims Unreported Terror Attacks (VIDEO)
On Tuesday, “The View” reacted to Donald Trump’s claims that there’s unreported terror attacks. Watch below.
On Monday, Trump accused the media of purposefully not reporting on some terror attacks, despite having no evidence to support that assertion. Many news outlets have hit back, pointing out their coverage of various tragedies. Whoopi Goldberg began the talk show’s discussion by saying, “You know what’s funny about this? One of the first stories that was reported on was the beheading of Daniel Pearl, a journalist. So the media has a real connection to making sure people know where the terror attacks are, all over the world.”
She went on, “The media’s been providing all the coverage these attacks receive. I just wanna say, even though Steve Bannon is running everything, I know that you can say what you want about the media… but it doesn’t change the fact that you’re wrong. You’re wrong, my friend.”
Sara Haines commented, “I find the timing of this interesting. On a day when the court’s deciding about a ban… we’re getting a highlight reel of every terrorist attack.” She suggested the president was trying to stoke “fear” to support his controversial executive action. That led Joy Behar to point out, “But not one word about the attack in Quebec, which was done by a white supremacist against a bunch of Muslims.”
And Sunny Hostin noted that Trump has not addressed the “botched Yemen raid.” Calling out the president for the raid’s fatal failures, she exclaimed, “Maybe the media should cover more of that!” Behar also stated the common news motto, “if it bleeds, it leads,” to support her point that the media covers terror attacks at length.
“This is such a blatant lie,” she said of Trump’s claims, “even people, I think, who voted for him could see it.” Jedediah Bila agreed it’s a “blatant lie,” but argued, “I think when he says this, he’s speaking to his base.” She stressed that Trump campaigned again the media, and said the president is now “fulfilling some campaign promise.” From there, the conversation addressed Trump’s ties to Vladimir Putin and Russia.
