“The View” Reacts: Donald Trump Tweets Included In National Archive (VIDEO)
“The View” co-hosts on Tuesday reacted to Donald Trump’s tweets being included in the National Archive. Check out the video below.
On Monday, it was revealed the National Archives and Records Administration has directed the White House to keep all of Trump’s tweets, even those he deletes, for preservation. The White House agreed, in accordance with the Presidential Records Act. Now on the ABC talk show, the panelists marveled over the kinds of messages that will now be kept alongside historical documents like the Gettysburg Address.
As an example, Whoopi Goldberg read aloud Trump’s tweet accusing former president Barack Obama of wiretapping him. It elicited an audibly negative response from the live audience, prompting the moderator to exclaim, “I didn’t say it! Don’t boo me!”
Sara Haines noted, “I looked [at his past tweets] for 30 minutes because there was so many. He always tweets — the worst ones are on Saturdays. I think it’s his big TV day.” And after another tweet about Arnold Schwarzenegger and “Celebrity Apprentice” was read aloud, Goldberg remarked, “This is the important stuff that is going to be included in the national archives.”
“They should include it in the Comedy Hall of Fame,” quipped Joy Behar, to which Goldberg shot back, “It’s not funny.” Jedediah Bila also read aloud Trump’s recent tweet slamming the Freedom Caucus. “I like it just because it exposes him as a fake conservative… I want it recorded that he’s a liar,” she said.
And Sunny Hostin said, “I wonder if the response to his tweets will be archived as well. There’s such a treasure trove.” Responded Goldberg, “I don’t think you can use that language [in the archives].” Watch below.
