“The View” co-hosts slammed Donald Trump on Monday for his tweets calling collusion with Russia “fake news.” Watch below.

On Monday morning, a few hours before the House Intelligence Committee held a hearing to investigate Russian interference in the presidential election, Trump tweeted, “James Clapper and others stated that there is no evidence Potus colluded with Russia. This story is FAKE NEWS and everyone knows it! The Democrats made up and pushed the Russian story as an excuse for running a terrible campaign. Big advantage in Electoral College & lost!”

“The real story that Congress, the FBI and all others should be looking into is the leaking of Classified information. Must find leaker now,” he went on to say, later adding, “What about all of the contact with the Clinton campaign and the Russians? Also, is it true that the DNC would not let the FBI in to look?”

Now on the ABC talk show, Goldberg said the “Twitter tirade” seemed like “his attempt to use shiny things to divert attention from everything else.” After reading the tweets aloud, the moderator declared, “I think we need to start calling this what it is: Diversion.”

Sunny Hostin agreed saying, “It’s a classic technique, but what I think is so fascinating is we now know what we’ve pretty much known from October, which is the Trump campaign is under an active criminal investigation by the FBI. Do you know how significant this is?!”

As the conversation continued, Jedediah Bila said, “I think for me one of the big issues is he’s still tweeting about it. You’re the president now. First of all, you need to stop talking about the Clinton campaign. We’re not in campaign mode anymore. You won the presidency.”

Goldberg said Trump IS still in campaign mode because he’s “running his re-election campaign” right now, and Bila criticized the president for not “letting these investigations play out.” She stated, “I don’t need to see my commander-in-chief on Twitter telling you which investigations will be successful, which ones won’t. Sit back. You have a lot of work to do.”

“One of his first tweets today had hashtag ‘fake news,’ and he’s out perpetuating this story about wiretapping,” she went on to say incredulously. The panel also discussed FBI director James Comey’s testimony at the hearing, as well as Trump’s low approval rating. They also addressed impeachment. Check out the full video below.
