“The View” co-hosts on Wednesday debated whether Abby Lee Miller is wrong to treat her upcoming prison sentence like a vacation. Check out the video below.

Whoopi Goldberg introduced the “hot topic” by asking if “reality stars are above the law.” She pointed to Teresa Giudice’s alleged probation violations after she served prison time for fraud, as well as the “Dance Moms” host getting sentenced to prison this week after hiding money, despite filing for bankruptcy. Jedediah Bila questioned whether these stars are getting the same “memo” as everyone else, and took particular issue with Miller’s vision of her time behind bars.

As Gossip Cop reported, Miller said during a “GMA” interview broadcast Wednesday morning, “We’re just going to pretend I’m shooting a movie and we’re on set, and I’m there for 10 months. And that’s the way it’s going to be.” The TV personality further said she plans to spend her time working on a book and learning Spanish.

Now Bila responded, “Okay, but jail’s not supposed to be a vacation. You did something wrong.” Sunny Hostin also found Miller’s perspective “surprising.” The lawyer pointed out that “anyone who’s been inside of a prison” would say “it’s never a picnic.” Goldberg, however, suggested that Miller just didn’t “want to depress” herself before going in.

Hostin wasn’t buying that explanation. “It seems she still doesn’t understand the import of what she did,” the panelist said, going on to wonder if the “pressure” of “newfound money” and “newfound fame” landed Miller and Giudice in these positions. Sara Haines also commented that sometimes reality stars just “don’t think they’ll be caught.”

On Goldberg’s side was Joy Behar, who didn’t see any problem with Miller planning to read up while locked up. “Why not learn something?” she asked. Bila acknowledged that’s “fine,” but still objected to the way she “minimized” something that’s meant to be punishment. Goldberg responded, “I just think she’s going, ‘Okay, I’m taking a new attitude in there.'” Watch the video below.
